Heavy metal analysis of soil samples collected from in and around satna

The physico-chemical parameters (i.e. temperature, pH, EC, organic carbon) and heavy metal (i.e. Manganese, Iron, Cobalt, copper, Zinc) has been examined in the soil samples of Satna district. The values ranges of different parameters temperature- 22-28 0C, pH- 7.60-8.80, EC- 0.69-3.20, organic carbon- 0.27-2.10, Mn- 16.3-36.8, Fe- 59.7-157.2, Co- 6.54-19.12, Cu-15.19-83.4 and Zn- 45.1-96.2 mg/kg were found in soil of Satna district. Fe and Zn content were found in all the samples are below than the (SQGL) recommended values.

Quarry dust emission effects on tree species diversity in chongoni forest reserve and vegetation characteristics in adjacent villages, dedza, Malawi

Quarrying dust is one of the air pollutants and is reported to have adverse effects on human health and alters plant community structure. A study was conducted to investigate the effects of quarrying dust emission on the tree species diversity and vegetation characteristics in Chongoni Forest Reserve and adjacent villages in Dedza, Malawi. An inventory on tree species diversity was carried out within a ground distance of 0–1km from the quarrying site into the reserve at an increasing distance of 250m (0–250m; 250–500m; 500-750m; 750–1000m).

Effect of nutrition supplementation on post-parturition in sheep from the tocantins region of maranhão State, Brazil

The production of sheep is an activity of high economic importance in the Brazilian north-east region. However several factors, such as the management, impossibility of high performance, especially in reproduction and the post-parturition in various animals of zootecnic interest. We evaluated different practices of nutrition management to evaluate the effects of post-parturition in sheep, in the southwestern of Maranhão, Brazil. The treatments were analyzed with ANOVA and Studente-Newman-Keuls tests (0.05).

Rabbit zacatuche (ROMEROLAGUS DIAZI): an endemic species of the valley of Mexico

The Volcano rabbit (Romerolagus diazi) is an endemic species of Mexico, in danger of extinction, restricted to the central part of the Mexican transvolcanic belt. Considered like primitive species by its morphological characteristics, one faces a disminution in its free populations by destruction of its habitat mainly. It is one of the smallest rabbits of the world, it is of mainly diurnal activity, it lives in small groups, it does not present a defined reproductive stage but that remains in constant state of sexual acceptance once in puberty.

Culture of leaves and immature fruits of maerua crassifolia in vitro

Leaves and immature fruits of M. crassifolia were cultured on Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) supplemented with different concentrations of auxins and cytokinins. When the leaves were inoculated on MS +Indolebutyric acid (IBA) 1 mg/l, a small green branches were directly formed from basal part as well as radicles covered with root hairs after two weeks, the branches were increased in growth and reached 0.3, 1and 1.3 cm in length after 14, 30,45 days respectively.

Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopic method in determing reaction rate constant for the reduction of CR (VI) TO CR (III) using ferrous sulphate (FESO4)

The kinetics of the reduction of hexavalent to trivalent chromium using ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) under acidic condition was studied using two methods of UV-Visible spectroscopy – the HACH and the Lambda Series. Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) was used as source of Cr6+. Due to complexity and time consuming steps of the Lambda Series, the HACH Method was employed as screen test. As soon as the trial gave good results from the HACH method, the Lambda series was performed. Comparison of the results was carried out and several differences were noted.

Public Private Partnership Regulations, (2009) Implementation And Organizational Performance Of Kenyan State Corporations

In Kenya, Public Private Partnerships Regulations (PPPR) were first gazetted on 10th March, 2009, with the aim to enhancing economic stimulation; promoting investment and creation of value for money. However, the success of the public private partnerships (PPPs) is yet to be realized in many state corporations because of non implementation of PPPR, (2009). The major challenges that affect implementation of the PPPs include supplier identification, supplier selection and evaluation, supplier performance management, supplier relationship management and project monitoring and evaluation.

Prophylactic Role Of Carissa Carandas Against Dmba Induced Skin Carcinogenesis In Swiss Albino Mice

The aim of the present study is to elucidate the protective effect of Carissa Carandas fruit extract (CCE) on skin carcinogenesis induced by a single topical application of 7, 12-dimethylbenz (a) anthracene (100 μg/100 μl of acetone) and after 2 weeks repeated application of croton oil (1% in acetone/three times a week) till the end of the experiment (i.e. 16 weeks). Oral administration of CCE at a dose of 50 mg/kg b.wt./day during Peri initiational stage (i.e.
