Impact Assessment Of Exposure Visits And Feedback Of Atma Stakeholders

The present study was conducted purposefully in selected block of Periyanacikenpalayam of Coimbatore district in order to assess the impact and feed back of exposure visit of ATMA stakeholders with the sample size of 105 respondents of ATMA stakeholders. The numbers of respondents for each category of exposure visits namely within the district, within the state and outside the state were selected by simple random sampling method.

Comparative susceptibility of some sugarcane genotypes (saccharum spp.) to moth borers sesamia cretica led., (noctuideae) and chilo partellus swinhoe (crambidae); under field conditions and their effects on yield in Sudan

These trials were conducted at Sugarcane Research Center, Guneid; located at latitude 15oN, longitude 33oE, for three consecutive seasons namely, 2007/08-2009/10. Nine sugarcane genotypes, (hybrids of Saccharum spp.) Namely, B 70531; B 79136; BJ 7451; BJ 7938; BJ 82105; BT 74209; COC 671; DB 75159 and TUC 75-3 were evaluated against sugarcane stalk borers in a field trial with; three commercial varieties namely, CO 527; CO 997 and CO 6806 were incorporated as checks.

Volvariella bombycina of Tamil nadu

The cultivation of the Volvariella bombycina was investigated. The specific medium of fungi MGYP broth and MGYPA were used for the culture and MGYP with 1% CMC, MGYP medium were used for enzyme production. Spawn was prepared using sorghum grains and paddy straw. The chemical analysis of mushrooms was as follows (percentage). Moisture83.10± 0.57, Proteins54.07 ± 0.19, Fiber11.23±0.31, Fat 06.76± 0.27, Carbohy drates 44.85 ± 0.07, Ash 05.30±0.63 and Energy (kcal) 384.01± 40.24.

Survey of medicinal plants of rajarajan manimandapam in thanjavur district of Tamilnadu

Survey of medicinal plants was taken in Rajarajan Manimandapam, Thanjavur district. It is one of the famous refreshment centres for urban people. Here, museum and children’s play materials are maintained. Many plants are seen here which are protected for medicinal and ornamental purposes. The investigation revealed that 50 plant species are commonly used in the treatment of various diseases. The collected medicinal plants have been arranged alphabetically according to their botanical names, followed by their common names, family and the part which is used for medicinal purposes.

Evaluation of automated analyzers of pahs and black carbon in a coke oven plant

In the winter of 2014 a series of measurements were performed to evaluate the behavior of real-time PAHs and black carbon analyzers in a coke oven plant located in Taranto, a city of Southern Italy. Data were collected both inside than outside the plant, at air quality monitoring sites. Contemporary measures of PM2.5 and PM1 were performed. Particle-bound PAHs were measured by two methods: (1) aerosol photoionization using an Ecochem PAS 2000 analyzer, (2) PM2.5 and PM1 quartz filter collection and analysis by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

Inheritance of maize phosphorus efficiency in acid soils of western kenya

Soil acidity is a major constraint to maize (Zea mays L.) productivity in tropical soils due to toxic levels of aluminium (Al) and phosphorus (P) deficiency.Selection for acid-soil tolerance is a sustainable way for increasing maize yields on these soils. The objectives of this study were to:(i) determine the genetic effects of maize traits associated with phosphorus efficiency (ii) compare the genetic effects of maize traits in low P and high P in acid soils. Six F1 single crosses derived from acid soil tolerant and susceptible lines were used in this study.

Historical performance of an outlying subarctic spruce (picea abies) population in northern swedish lapland

Peripheral populations of cold-marginal tree species are often supposed to serve as dispersal nodes in relation to rapid climate warming. The history and evolution of a discrete outlying subarctic stand of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.), growing in northern Swedish Lapland, was investigated. Accordingly, it was hypothesized that climate change and variability over the past century have evoked substantial population growth and spread in the surrounding subarctic landscape.
