An important component of science learning in general and physics learning in particular is mastery of concepts. The physics curriculum incorporates many abstract concepts which, if not effectively grasped by students form a barrier to their further learning. Research in concept learning reveals that analogy is an efficacious instructional strategy in facilitating conceptual change within a constructivist paradigm. However, in most non-Western contexts, most of the analogies used by educators have merely replicated analogical models fashioned for teaching science within Western classrooms.
Ground water samples were collected from different locations of Banda City. The parameters examined were Temperature, pH, DO, BOD, COD, TH, Alkalinity Chloride, Nitrate, and Sulphate at nine sampling locations of Banda city it was observed that all the parameters are within the range of permissible limit except BOD and TH. The results were compared with standard prescribed by WHO (1984). All the parameters are correlated with one another and the statistical analysis of the data is presented.
Among the various newer molecules of insecticides tested for their toxicity against various larval instars revealed that flubendiamide was found to be most effective, followed by, indoxacarb, spinosad, and fipronil. The LC50 values recorded for flubendiamide 0.009, 0.009, 0.010 and 0.013, indoxacarb 0.013, 0.014, 0.015 and 0.017, spinosad 0.029, 0.030, 0.036 and 0.060, and fipronil 0.117, 0.120 0.136 and 0.156 µg/L, respectively against first, second, third and fourth instar larvae of P. xylostella.

The present study reports for the first time the assessment of indigo content of in vitro regenerated plantlets and callus tissues of Strobilanthes cusia (Nees) Kuntze. Maximum shoot multiplication from shoot- tip explants was observed from explants cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 1mg/L naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) in combination with 1mg/L kinetin (Kin) followed by MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L NAA alone and the shoot buds also showed rooting in these media. Rooted plantlets were successfully established in the soil.

Background & objectives: Active transports of intestinal glucose and phosphate (Pi) is shown to be sodium dependent. Earlier reports show an inhibitory role for glucose on intestinal Pi transport . Information on other hexoses is scanty. So this study is conducted to see the effects of hexoses like galactose , 3-O-methyl glucose and fructose on phosphate transport. Materials and methods: Everted gut sacs from proximal intestine were prepared from Swiss male albino mice. The sacs were filled with 0. 5ml of serosal fluid and placed in mucosal medium of same composition.
The leaves of a malvacae-Gossypiumhirusitium was subjected to proximate analyses and amino acid analyses using standard procedures. Determination of amino acid profile consisted of hydrolysis of proteins to constituent amino acids followed by the quantitative estimation of the amino acids in the hydrolysate. Crude protein, fibre, ash, nitrogen free extracts (fat) and moisture contents were determined by AOAC methods. Anti-nutritional composition and antibacterial properties of the plant was determined using standard procedures.

The author, based on the linguistic data, has attempted to find and show the violations of vowel harmony and the related causes in the dialects of Azerbaijan Turkish in Iran (a synchronic study).
