New audio video consent guidelines: elements for informed consent process for clinical trials in India

As per the clinical research guidelines, every adult volunteer must agree to participate in a clinical trial and proper consent must be taken for the same. As per the schedule Y, in all trials, informed, written consent, free from any physical, psychological or economic points. After highlight of the order of the Hon’ble Supreme court, CDSCO dated 19 November 2013, has made it mandatory for all clinical trials to conduct audio video (AV) recording of the informed consent process along with written consent of each trial subject.

Study of yoga versus exercise therapy in the management of mechanical low back pain

Background: Mechanical low back pain is one of the major 21st century adversity, and 2nd leading cause of disability. Back pain is a common health problem, with more than 50% of adults bothered by it each year and 70% to 80% of adults afflicted by it at some time in their lives. Yoga offers a holistic approach to health and is now considered a form of mind-body medicine within complementary and alternative medicine. Physiotherapists are beginning to recognize yoga as a form of treatment for musculoskeletal and cardio respiratory conditions.

Efficacy of low level laser therapy in the management of venous leg ulcer

BACKGROUND: Chronic venous leg ulcers are major health problems in most countries with patients who suffer from chronic venous insufficiency. LLLT is most commonly used physiotherapy modality used as a tissue stimulator to improve wound healing and they also have anti inflammatory and an analgesic effect. Very few studies attempted to find the efficacy of LLLT in the management of venous leg ulcers. Study Design: Pre and post with control group design.
