Application of expert methods for predicting heat affected zone of tig weldments

The heat-affected zone (HAZ) of a weld, is the area of base metal, which is not melted during welding but has had its microstructural properties altered by welding. In this study, the application of expert systems such as response surface method to optimize the heat affected zone using tungsten inert gas was pursued. The central composite design matrix was employed to collect data from the sets of experiments. The specimen was made from mild steel plates and welded with the tungsten inert gas process.

Evaluation criteria for dental bur selection, its usage, cleansing and disposal

Aim: To compare the criteria for dental bur selection, its usage, cleansing and disposal among undergraduates, postgraduates and clinicians . Effect of bread yeast treatment on the growth and productivity of potato crop

Research conducted at the Agricultural Research Center in Idleb Governorate to investigate the effect of the treatment with bread yeast in some growth and productivity characteristics of Agria potato variety. Complete randomized block design was established with 5 replicates. The treatments used were soaking the tubers for plantation with foliar spray, foliar spray only and control without any treatment. The following measurements were recorded in this research: plant height, plant yield, biological yield and block productivity.

Stratagems for isolation of soil organic matter fractions in soil matrix: a mini-review

Soil organic matter (SOM) have successfully been fractionated using physicochemical methods for many decades. Although, no single method will absolutely separate natural organic matter into its components, as there are several types of organic matter i.e. kerogen carbon (KC), hydrolysable carbon (HC), non-hydrolysable carbon (NHC), black carbon (BC) and aged organic carbon (AOC).

Groundwater and earthquakes: a general review

Researchers have for decades investigated Groundwater-level responses to earthquakes and vice versa. Findings have been adequately documented in each case especially when it comes to the rises and fall of water levels, and the impact of the groundwater flow regime on the earthquakes. This paper reviews the concept of earthquake generation, groundwater occurrence, and characteristic properties common to earthquake and groundwater materials, as well as interactions. Also, some case studies are evaluated.
