Drug allergy: a comparative age and gender characteristics

Background: The monitoring committees are possible side effects of the drugs, which are produced in several countries, register annually from 5 to 100 thousand allergic reactions through medicines, among which over 1% of the fatal outcome. Whilst 70% of all adverse reactions to the drugs are allergic and they are detected in 8-12% of patients. Along with this is revealed the incidence of individual nosological forms of allergy drug etiology, as well as their dependence on individual groups of drugs.

Passive voice forms errors committed in iraqi biological theses/ dissertations

This study aims to identify analyses and describe errors committed in passive voice forms and structure in Iraqi theses and dissertation in field biology. Ten random samples theses and dissertation from different colleges in field biology were examined and analyzed also investigated the frequency of errors in each chapter in theses and dissertation. The findings of this study reveal the followings: • There are a variation in using passive voice in Ph.D. dissertations and M.Sc. theses in all chapters.

A study to assess the level of anger and irrational beliefs among adolescent students with a view of behaviour modification in selected government higher secondary schools at Puducherry

“Anger” is defined as a “feeling of displeasure resulting from injury, mistreatment, opposition, etc., and usually showing itself in a desire to fight back at the supposed cause of this feeling”. A Quantitative Research approach was adopted for this present study. This study adopted descriptive research design. The study setting selected government higher secondary schools, Puducherry. Population includes all adolescents students studying at selected schools, Puducherry. Sample size consists of 60.

A study to assess the psychosocial distress among caregivers of schizophrenic patients at selected hospital, Puducherry

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder that has a dramatic impact not only in patients suffering from it but in their families as well (Weisman, 2005). Due to the move from traditional institutional care to community care of psychiatric patients, relatives have become the most important caregivers for adults with major psychiatric disorders (Solomon, 1996). A Quantitative Research approach was adopted for this present study. The descriptive research design was chosen for this present study.

The content of lipids in the blood of pregnant women with preeclampsia

Background: Today a little information is known on the lipid spectrum of blood in preeclampsia in pregnant women, at the same time, coverage of this issue could deepen our understanding about changes in the body be-belt with preeclampsia that will justify a more rational therapy of the disease and prevention of complications of gestation. Purpose: To study some parameters of lipid and protein spectrum of blood in pregnant women with preeclampsia.

Development and validation of hplc method for simultaneous estimaton of amlodipine besylate and valsartan

A simple, sensitive, rapid and selective isocratic reversed phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Amlodipine Besylate & Valsartan from pharmaceutical dosage form using a mobile phase consisting mixture of triethylamine Buffer: acetonitrile:Methanol (25:37.5:37.5), (pH adjusted to 3.0 using ortho phosphoric acid) at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. A Kromasil C-8 (Intersile250 x 4.6 mm,5 µm.) column was used as stationary phase. The retention time of Amlo and Hydro was 3.97 min. and 2.79 min. respectively.

Impact of surveillance and practices of health care workers on surgical site infections in ministry of health hospitals – saudi arabia

Objectives: Multicenter surveillance regarding the knowledge, attitude and application of precautionary measures and resulting improvement in the surgical site infection (SSI) rate in hospitals of Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia. Design: Prospective cohort study, from Moharram to Zil Hajj 1434 H. (15/11/2012 to 5/11/ 2013). Setting: MOH hospitals in four areas of Makkah region, Saudi Arabia. Performance efficiency of improved barbecue for roasting corn cobs

Various technologies have been created to make the process of roasting easy, quicker and stress-free but most of these were developed outside India. The economic situations of the corn cob roasting vendors have limited the use of automated and power driven equipment to a few large scale processors and vendor. Therefore, to reduce the stress and accidents during roasting and increasing the efficiency, a roasting device with increased efficiency and productivity is needed to be developed.

ANAL FISTULA SECONDARY TO ACTINOMYCOSIS, AN EXTREMELY RARE COMPLICATION

Actinomycosis is the most misdiagnosed disease so far, though it is known to clinicians since 150 years. Primary perianal actinomycosis is extremly rare. The infection is caused by the bacterium Actinomyces, gram positive bacilli of the Actinomycetales genus, and A. israelii is responsible for the majority of human disease, which often is a saprophyte. Male gender and diabetes are risk factors. Patients, who have undergone appendicectomy, have had a missed perforated appendicitis or women with a history of intrauterine contraceptive device use are at an increased risk.
