Can influenza viruses be inactivated by a "nose-mouth-nose" breathing technique?

Seven years ago, I presented an oral communication “Nasal breathing technique in nasal airway obstruction. Viral infections in upper respiratory tract”, in the 20th World Congress of the International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngologycal Societes, IFOS, Seoul, 2013. This is a technique based on physiological concepts of breathing, to avoid the use of nasal decongestants in a cold or flu. We have to breathe the air we exhale. It is air with a high concentration of CO2, but it is not toxic.

E-learning and mathematics in secondary school: what students with physically handicapped say in Kenya

Physically Handicapped (PH) learners may lack in education if there are no environmental and instructional adaptations to enable them compete on equal footing with their non-disabled peers. Mathematics subject trains learners to think in quantitative terms. Performance in this subject has been the worst among the PH learners in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education as indicated in the results of the years 2008 to 2013. Conventional instruction has been the only method of teaching these learners.

Construction of a model to evaluate the information seeking behaviour of the university academics

A significant portion of the clientele of the university libraries is made up of the academic (teaching) staff. Therefore, these libraries are responsible for systematically understanding the information requirements and usage patterns of those academics, in order to better serve them. Hence, a theoretical model developed exclusively for these academics becomes crucial. Therefore, this study evaluated various models on the information seeking behaviour of diverse user groups with the aim of constructing a model to study the information seeking behaviour of the academics.

Obesogenic factors influencing obesity among saudi children

Childhood obesity is deliberated as a serious health problem worldwide. The aim of this review is to determine the factors influencing obesity among Saudi Children. Obesity prevalence has increased dramatically among children aged 6-17 years, which is extending into the developing world from the developed nations. In Saudi Arabia, it has been documented that, the occurrence of obesity among adolescents increased significantly (Country Cooperation Strategy for WHO and Saudi Arabia, 2015). Globally, 22 million children approximately, under age 5, are estimated to be overweight.

Severe consequences of environmental problems in the surkhandarya region.

The article describes the state of chemical, construction materials, metalworking, chemical, nitrogen and organic fertilizers used in agriculture, oil refining industries built in 1940-80 in Surkhandarya region. The causes of changes in the ecological status of these industrial enterprises in Samarkand region, the negative impact on public health, the consequences of damage to soil, water and air in the surrounding area have been studied.

Redefining the definition of learning from an educational aspect

This essay paper discusses the meaning and understanding of the learning process as it was defined primarily through the eyes and research studies of behaviorists, including Ivan Pavlov, Edward Thorndike, James Watson, and B. F. Skinner. Therefore, the definition of learning, as a mental process, may not be fully explained since it was primarily defined by behaviorists who studied external activities but no other psychologists who studied mental activities that take place within the brain.
