Evaluation of thyroid abnormalities using ultrasonography and radionuclide scintigraphy

The main aim of this study was to evaluate the thyroid abnormalities using ultrasound and scintigraphy in order to avoid radiation hazards Methods: A The study population consisted of 173 patients were seen by surgeons and medical doctors, were diagnosed clinically ashaving thyroid issues, and referred to Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Department, Fujairah hospital for thyroid scintigraphy and neck ultrasound during the period from Jan 10, 2016 to June 30, 2018. All patients Thyroid function test were done before coming to radiology department.

Information giving effect to knowledge mothers with babies of infant massage

Future baby's development is a critical period in the event of a person is aged 0-12 months. At this time the baby is in desperate need of stimulation of the growth in the form of infant massage. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of giving information to the knowledge of mothers with babies on infant massage. This study design was one group pretest-posttest design done in Puskesmas Sei Langkai in February-August 2017 with a 2648 population of mothers with babies aged 0-12 months and a sample of 265 respondents, sampling using purposive sampling with questionnaires.

Bibliometric review on hyperprotected radiotherapy for the treatment of brain tumors

Introduction: In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the application of advanced imaging techniques to improve the treatment of brain tumor. Objective: to analyze studies that deal with hyperfractionation in relation to the survival of patients submitted to radiotherapy of brain tumors. Materials and methods: By choosing the keywords Hyperfrationation and brain for searching the database of Scopus, 102 documents were found.

Role of intranasal steroid in the prevention of recurrent nasal symptoms after adenoidectomy

Objective: To demonstrate the role of intranasal steroid in the prevention of adenoid regrowth after adenoidectomy. Methods: Prospective randomized controlled study. One hundred children after adenoidectomy were divided into 2 groups. Group I received postoperative intranasal steroid and group II received postoperative intranasal saline spray. Both medications were administered for 12 weeks postoperatively. Patients were followed up for 6 months.

Wilckodontics- A novel procedure for rapid treatment! two case reports

Recently, there has been a rise in the number of adult patients looking for orthodontic treatment with requirements regarding the duration of treatment and aesthetics. Wilckodontics is a clinical procedure that combines selective alveolar corticotomy, particulate bone grafting, and the application of orthodontic forces. This procedure is theoretically based on the bone healing pattern known as the regional acceleratory phenomenon (RAP). Two case reports display a technique that reduces the treatment time and also reshape the alveolar housing simultaneously.

Mineral and vitamin requirement in crossbred high yielding dairy cows: A review

There are over 70 known mineral interrelationships in which an additional dietary quantity of one mineral element will influence absorption or utilization of another mineral element. As the animal ages, the readiness of availability of stored mineral elements in the bone decreases. Animal do adapt to reduced dietary intake of minerals. Availability of nutrients and the effect of area specific mineral mixture supplementation along with vitamins should be provided.

A descriptive study to assess the menopausal symptoms among menopausal women residing in selected villages at Namakkal district

Menopause is a part of a women’s natural ageing process. Objectives: To assess the level of Menopausal symptoms among menopausal women. Design: A Descriptive research design. Sample: Menopausal women with menopausal symptoms at Namakkal (Dt). Sampling Technique: Convenient sampling technique. Data collection: MRS (Menopause Rating Scale) was used to assess the level of Menopausal symptoms. Results: 15% of menopausal women had moderate symptoms, 50% of menopausal women had severe symptoms and 35% of menopausal women had very severe symptoms.

Clinical study of headache in relation to sinusitis and its management

Aim: To study relation of headache with sinusitis and its management. Methodology: Patients clinically presenting with headache were selected. Only patients with headache due to rhinogenic causes were subjected to X-ray paranasal sinuses and diagnostic nasal endoscopy and followed-up to evaluate management. Results: Majority of the patients were of age group 21-30 years and it is more predominant in males. Majority of the patients of headache were having DNS (56.5%), acute sinusitis (34.5%) and few number of patients had nasal polyp (10%).

Procelain laminate veneers for management of spacing in maxillary anterior region: A case report

Porcelain laminate veneers are one of the most conservative and esthetics restoration that can be used for enhancing esthetics Present Case report discusses a patient having spacing in maxillary anterior region treated with porcelain laminate veneer. The patient was satisfied with the result and had no complaints during 6 months of follow-up.

Clinical outcomes of the ischemic stroke patients with hypersomnia

Objectives: to analyze clinical outcomes of the ischemic stroke patients with hypersomnia using The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score transformation. Design: observational analytic study with longitudinal cohort approach Setting: the study was conducted at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital, Hasanuddin University Teaching Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia. Procedure:72 subjects diagnosed with ischemic stroke, divided into two groups by using Sleep Diary Test. One group with hypersomnia while other without hypersomnia.
